Lance Mason invest in local talent

Blackburn solicitors, Lance Mason, have this week launched a recruitment campaign to employ eight legal apprentices as part of their growth plans for the future.
Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fallon, explained: “We are a relatively new law firm specialising in litigation and have experienced 2000% growth in just over 3 years. Our aim over the next five years is to be in the top 100 Legal firms with an anticipated turnover of over £50m pa. To achieve this, we want to attract and retain local talent and help them realise their potential while they grow with Lance Mason. For the right people, with the right attitude, the opportunities here are unlimited.”
The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services will be run in conjunction with CILEx Law School (CLS) and is ideally suited to A Level students who are seeking a career in law, without having to go to university.
CLS Learning & Development Manager, Nicola Goodman, said: “The Advanced Apprenticeship offers an opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’.  To qualify as a solicitor, university fees and the cost of the LPC course can easily exceed £40,000 and without any guarantee of a job.  A Legal Apprenticeship not only offers employment, but a legal qualification which can also offer some exemptions to those learners who later wish to study for qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.  The distinction between solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives has become very narrow and our members can now apply for judicial appointments and partnership. The CILEx route, starting with a legal apprenticeship, is a very attractive pathway.”
This timely announcement has been made during National Apprenticeship Week and over the next couple of months Lance Mason and CILEx Law School plan to visit local sixth forms and colleges to explain the programme.
